Today we present seven psychedelic fashion photos from photographer Mark Leibowitz’s current “Backstage at Galliano” exhibit, which opened as a private event April 25 in downtown Manhattan. The show includes 17 limited-edition prints created backstage at John Galliano’s fall-winter ’08 and spring-summer ’09 ready-to-wear shows in Paris.

“Cramped quarters, poor lighting, and a frantic atmosphere became my invitation to deconstruct the pandemonium revealing elegance and grace,” Leibowitz writes in the exhibit description. “During the shows I remained still while the variety of colors and layers in these images evolved past the lens in seemingly choreographed procession.” Leibowitz wouldn’t reveal how the images shown here were made… but more will be released in additional cities (including Los Angeles, San Francisco and London). It was a great opportunity to bust out a long lens on the Hasselblad.”
