Running of the Bulls (10 Photos)

The festival of San Fermin takes place in Pamplona, Spain each year beginning on July 6, and ending on July 14.  The fiesta has become internationally known for the encierro, or the running of the bulls. Maite Hernandez, a recent graduate from the ICP Documentary and Photojournalism program is based in Spain and New York.

The Family and the Land

The Family and the Land – an exhibition recently opened at the Photographers’ Gallery in London is Sally Mann’s first solo show in the UK. The exhibition will run from 18th June until 19th September 2010. See more information on the exhibit here.

Hurricane Devastation (5 Photos)

On July 1st, the State of Nuevo Leon, México, woke up devastated by hurricane Alex brutal force. Hurricane Alex was the first tropical storm that hit the north of the country on 2010. It’s strength and devastation became a catastrophe in the State of Nuevo Leon. Thousands of people lost their homes and entire cities were under water. Nobody was prepared for what happened next, as it kept raining. Rivers overflowed causing rescuers to take longer than expected to help those stuck in high risk zones.

Between Here and There

Between Here and There: Passages in Contemporary Photography is an exhibition that has just opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The gallery features several artists’ minimal and conceptual photographic works from the 60’s and 70’s as well as photographers such as Erin Shirreff, Doug Aitken, Rineke Dijkstra and others…The work is on view at the Met July 2, 2010 through February 13, 2011.
