Burigana River, Old Dhaka 2008

Photographer and multimedia producer Geoffrey Hiller shot this image as part of “The Bangladesh Project,” which he worked on in the capital city of Dhaka on a Fulbright Scholarship from August 2008 to May 2009. More of the work is viewable online at www.bangladeshproject.com. Hiller writes:

“I was drawn to this area in Old Dhaka because of the special energy of the nearby Saderghat ferry terminal where boats of all shapes and sizes from the delta region are constantly arriving and departing. I turned around and looked through a cloth that served as a makeshift tea stall while the light was quickly fading on the banks of the Burigana river. There was barely enough  left to make an exposure.”
