Signs of the Apocalypse/Rapture

This photograph by Dutch photographer Ellen Kooi is part of a group exhibition, Signs of the Apocalypse/Rapture, currently showing at Chicago’s Hyde Park Art Center through September 20, 2009. Featuring more than 30 artists working in various mediums, the show explores “the current trend of blurring the line between annihilation and bliss euphoria in contemporary art, thought and sound.” The exhibition is based on a book project of the same name, which was released last year by Front Forty Press and the University of Chicago.
