© Reinfried Marass

This image is from a shoot by Austria-based photographer Reinfried Marass for a client who sells classic cars. The 30-minute shoot—done on location at a car dealership using the dealer’s wife as a model—yielded four successful stock photos including this one. Marass says:

“Besides some minor usages in advertising and editorial she was featured on the cover of a major car magazine in Germany, as a magazine centerfold, used on the cover of a high class luxury catalaque in the US, favored for the book cover of a well known US-writer and even used for the campaign of a British bank institute. Not a bad outcome. Although it doesn’t always work that easy. For the car enthusiats: car used in the shot is a Porsche Speedster A, model year 1956.”

Marass licenses his work through Gallery Stock.

Jim Mason, Medicine Man

“The ceremonial plants are dying from the pollution which falls from the sky. Their roots are dead.  We no longer have the plants we need for ceremony.  The blasting of Mother Earth for the strip mine shakes the ground I stand on every day.  The walls of my hogan suffer great cracks caused by the blasting.  My sheep can no longer drink the water.” Over 15 million tons of chemical toxins are released into the air each year in the Four Corners Area.  Living in the shadow of the nation’s dirtiest power plants and open pit coal strip mines the Dine´ People suffer from respiratory disease and cancer from the pollution laden air, soil, and water in Burnham, NM. Navajo Nation.
